Půllitr Ambiente
Czech beer deserves Czech glassware – that's why we've revived the tradition of pint glasses made from genuine Czech crystal. The design was created in collaboration with designers Michal Froněk and Jan Němeček (Olgoj Chorchoj studio, head of the D3 Product Design Studio at UMPRUM) and their students as part of their semester project. Production was undertaken by the Czech glassworks BOMMA, which boasts a long tradition and unique beer glass pressing technology.
The pint glass for Ambiente was designed by Jáchym Kuza, a second-year student at the Product Design Studio at UMPRUM. He drew on the classic shapes of Czech beer glasses and originally combined them into a face motif – according to him, it looks like a sincere "friend on a pint glass." Now you can have it at home too.
The pint glass is packaged in an original gift box from the Činčera studio.
Unique production
BOMMA was born in a historic Czech region with a centuries-old glassmaking heritage, where traditional craftsmanship is elevated to a sophisticated art.
In the production of pint glasses, glassmakers used beer glass pressing technology – molten glass was poured into a three-part mold, and after pressing, the pint glasses were sent to a series of burners for final polishing and then to a cooling furnace, where they slowly released internal tension for several hours so that the glass would not crack spontaneously and would become more durable.
Stress test
We tested the pint glasses extensively over the summer. We took feedback from guests and bartenders into account and produced 2,000 glasses in November, which you will find in Kantýna, Kuchyně na hradě, and Brasileiro Slovanský dům during the winter months.
Aesthetic and functional material
Genuine Czech crystal boasts exceptional clarity, shine, and durability. The glasses are designed to fit comfortably in your hand, be easy to wash, and be durable enough for everyday use.
Easy maintenance
The pint glass is very durable and dishwasher safe. It is designed to last as long as possible so that even future generations can enjoy drinking from it.
